What is a WMS and why do I need one?
A WMS (Warehouse Management System) is the software that drives, in real time, everything that comes in, goes out and moves through your warehouse. Without a WMS, you rely on Excel, paper and operator memory. With one, you keep traceability of every pallet, validate every action by scan, and avoid the inventory discrepancies that quietly drain margin. For an SMB logistics operation or a 3PL, it's the tool that takes operations from "we manage" to "we hit our customer commitments without stress".
Does Transipal work for multi-tenant 3PLs?
Yes — it's actually one of our flagship use cases. Transipal natively models the partner-organization concept: a single physical warehouse can host several customers with separate stocks, separate missions, and per-customer billing. Each organization can access its own B2B portal to track its missions and pallets, with no visibility into your back-office or other customers. On the manager side, you keep a consolidated view of the whole warehouse at a glance.
Do I need specific hardware (scanners, terminals)?
No. Transipal runs on any Android smartphone with a camera: your operators scan barcodes directly, with no proprietary hardware to buy. For high-volume flows, you can add ruggedized Zebra or Honeywell terminals with built-in scanners (compatible via keyboard wedge), but it's optional. On the office side, the web app runs on recent Chrome, Safari or Edge — nothing to install.
How long does it take to roll out Transipal in a warehouse?
Expect 2 to 6 weeks depending on complexity. A single-warehouse SMB with a limited product catalog can be live in 2 weeks (configuration + reference import + team training). A multi-customer 3PL with ERP connectors and specific picking rules takes more like 4 to 6 weeks. We support you on data migration, on-floor training and a progressive go-live (one flow at a time if needed) — no big-bang launches.
How does Transipal integrate with my ERP or e-commerce?
Through a documented REST API that covers the full domain model: missions, tasks, packs, items, stock and every logistics event. Authentication is standard OAuth with personal access tokens. For custom integrations, your developers plug straight into the API — full documentation and a sandbox are available on the developer portal.
Where is my data hosted?
Your data is hosted in the EU region (Dublin, Ireland) on GDPR-compliant, ISO 27001-certified infrastructure. Encryption at rest and in transit (TLS 1.3), daily backups with 7-day retention, and full access logging.
What happens if I lose network connectivity in the warehouse?
The mobile app needs an active network connection to validate actions in real time and keep operators in sync. For warehouses in tougher coverage zones, we recommend stabilising Wi-Fi at the critical points (loading docks, picking aisles) before rollout — it's a project line item to plan for, not a footnote.
Can I trial Transipal before committing?
Yes. The first step is always a 30-minute personalized demo where we show Transipal on your real flows (receiving, staging, shipping) — not a generic slideshow. If the tool is a fit, we open a free test environment for 30 days, with your actual SKUs and a subset of your operators, before any contractual commitment. That gives you time to validate it on the floor, not just in a meeting room.
